The Young Voices Club

Where Young Writers Find Their Voice

An eight-week creative writing experience for children ages 9-11 that builds confidence, sparks imagination, and celebrates every story.

In Person | Small Group | Weekly Sessions | Published Anthology

Welcome To The Young Voices Club

Every great writer starts with a blank page.

The Young Voices Club is a welcoming space where young writers can explore their imagination, build confidence, and discover the joy of storytelling. Through engaging weekly activities, creative prompts, and encouraging feedback, children will develop their writing skills while learning that every voice matters.

Over eight weeks, participants will grow as writers, make new friends, and become published authors in a professionally printed class anthology they can proudly take home.

Become A Published Young Author

One of the most exciting parts of The Young Voices Club is seeing each child's work in print.

Every participant will have the opportunity to contribute a piece of original writing to the Young Voices Club Anthology. At the end of the program and at the book launch, each child will receive a professionally printed book celebrating the creativity and accomplishments of every young author.

It's more than a book. It's proof that their words matter.

Meet Your Instructor

My name is Samantha Laycock

Samantha Laycock is an author, publisher, and the founder of My Life of Words and Oak & Ink Publishing. Her own writing journey began at the age of 10, when a teacher introduced her to creative writing and helped her discover the joy of putting words onto paper.

That early experience stayed with her and shaped the work she does today. Through her writing and publishing work, Samantha helps others recognize the power of their stories and feel more confident using their voices.

She has also created writing resources to encourage creativity, self-expression, and confidence. Samantha believes every young writer deserves a space where their ideas are welcomed, their imagination is celebrated, and their words are taken seriously.

As the instructor of The Young Voices Club, Samantha creates a supportive and engaging environment where children can explore storytelling, strengthen their writing skills, and feel proud of what they create. Her goal is to help each child discover that their voice matters and that they already have stories worth sharing.
